there’s no backing out!0

Posted by Maya in rants & raves (Tuesday July 17, 2007 at 10:15 pm)

it’s already 7pm and I should be heading home. I was so tired from all the tasks today. The rain’s pouring down, I can’t get home.

At around 7:30, I went down the building to see if i can be on attack mode in case the rain calms down. I was soooooooooo wrong, I backed out. I went back to the room with Pau and Marc. (more…)

Churros!3

Posted by Maya in rants & raves, food (Saturday July 14, 2007 at 12:16 pm)

This Antonio Pueo box of churros has been kept in our cupboard for a couple of months now. Being a fan of churros and still in an unending search for the best churros here in the Philippines, I decided to buy one so i could also try my churreria which has been kept for years now.

The box of Antonio Pueo Churros con Chocolate and my rocketship, er, churreria.

my weekend was tiring. so tired. had  our team building at tagaytay…. not the call center team building. we had this kind of team building last year… y’know, the seminar and the lessons…. but we were all tired and we all had to sleep late. there was a time we ended at 2 am last year. boring! noticing the lecturer’s grammar woke me up. this time, same facilitator, plus one new. the lessons ended at 11pm aside from the physical exhaustion all-day long from waking up at 5:30am, going to the market, the team races and cooking for 13-18 people with different dishes and just 2 burners. sessions ended at 11 or 12, sleeping for a max of 5 hours. then cook breakfast again. gah. the freak driver who made me puke with his driving as soon as we got to tagaytay and back to malacanang.  not gonna make this entry long. so tired. it was fun naman. i’ll just post the links to their pictures next time. too lazy to downloaad everything and transfer them to mine.
oh, yeah, this morning, had a fight with a taxi driver who bumped into taby (no bruise naman) but we had it settled inside a transparent mmda office. i wasted my time over it. not a big deal. sleeeeepy, tired.

change ratings!0

Posted by Maya in rants & raves, food, movies (Tuesday July 3, 2007 at 10:37 pm)

Well, I just wrote my blog while I was working last Saturday. After work, I met up with my hon and we proceeded to Greenbelt 3 to watch again the transformers movie.

I really cant help it. It’s like an addiction. A movie with a “kilig” factor. I am still so amazed with it. I’m adding another point for my rating, making it a 10. Just perfect!

Unfortunately, we had to wait hmmm… probably 3 hours for the movie. all the earlier showtimes were full. We didn’t mind, our movie is free this time. :)

We just spent money and time in greenbelt 3. Had dinner at Casa Armas and sort of killed time there. Service is superb, we were well-taken care of. We ordered Paella which is good for 3 (they said it was good for 2). I had a chorizo bocadillo (spanish sausage sandwich), and a tapas platter composed to jamon serrano, chorizos (again) and cheese (”Q” for Ques-O!).

I guess their paella beats our #1 which is at Alba’s. Sorry, Señor Alba, paella buffet quality on an electric hot plate goes next after an authentic paella on a paellera which has always been kept hot with some magic underneath the paellera. The waiters at Casa Armas informed us beforehand that it will take 30 minutes for them to serve the nice dish. The moment we sat down, they already asked us if we’re ordering paella.

For our previous experience at Casa Armas a year ago, the restaurant still has a good rating for us. we will definitely come back for their paella or maybe just for an authentic Spanish feel.

For dessert, we had some ice cream at Cold Rock. I had the boysenberry thingee (which has actually raspberries-I LOVE!). my hon had bubblegum ice cream which had some weird stuff he requested like marshmallows and a cherry choco bar. the price of 2 small cups (their regular size) is equal to the price of 1 gallon of selecta ice cream. grrrr! i tried their ice cream twice or thrice already but after working with a smaller salary (i work for the gov’t), i think their prices are outrageous!

oh, by the way, i just finished my orange peel chocolates. Leonida’s make really goooooood ones but you can only buy a few pieces for P400. Marks and Spencer sells it by the box, which is a good buy. :) I still need to make a few adjustments on mine.

“Transformers” spoilers0

Posted by Maya in rants & raves (Saturday June 30, 2007 at 5:32 pm)

#1: I LOVE THE MOVIE!!!!!!! i wanna watch it again! - well, aside from missing those robots we used to play when we were kids, the non-stop action scenes are cool!

one best thing about being a child of the 80’s: THE TRANSFORMERS!

#2:  Bumble Bee is cool!!!! - well, at first, i thought of him as being a poor li’l robot. partly, yes. I’ve been telling my honey “poor bumble bee” many times during the movie. He’s cute, he’s cool!
#3: will there be a “Transformers2″? hmmm.. who knows?

#4: there have been a lot of changes - but optimus prime’s voice is still Peter Cullen’s voice. Star Scream’s voice is not that screechy, high-pitched voice we used to hear. Bumble Bee is not a VW beetle.

yep, there are a lot of changes and people may tend to differentiate this movie with the cartoons version. i don’t care. hehehe i just love the movie! it’s total entertainment. though their humor can be classified as shallow, being a shallow person, i appreciated it a lot. hehehe

9 out of 10 stars here. :)

In loving memory of Chris Benoit2

Posted by Maya in rants & raves (Tuesday June 26, 2007 at 1:10 pm)

Christopher Michael Benoit (May 21, 1967 – June 25, 2007)

WWE may be scripted. It’s definitely a form of entertainment. However, for this wrestler, Mr. Chris Benoit, it’s not.

I like him for being a hardcore wrestler, all pain, no scripts involved. A real athlete. He’s not much of a talker and a blabber like the other wrestlers. I’ve seen him cry when his best friend Eddie Guerrero died, but I was really shocked when my hon told me about Benoit’s death.
It’s such a big loss.

We’ll miss the Rabid Wolverine.
